Thanks to 2012, I now have…
A new Semester with new classes on my beautiful, Baylor Campus.
73 new members of Tri Delta, as well as a new leadership role.
New creations for Southern Elle.
People often use the new year for a reason to change or as a fresh start, which is well and good; however, the changes instigated often end up being reverted back to their original state.
It’s now the second week in January, which means that gyms are more crowded, and people are still trucking along on their New Year Resolutions…for now. Not that they aren’t kept on purpose, but if you only allow good changes to be made once a year, it probably isn’t good.
Romans 6:4 says “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
So celebrate the new year as a symbol of restarting, but don’t let it be the only time you allow better things in your life- as Christians, God gives us that opportunity everyday.
On a lighter note, what am I resolving to do, you ask?
Well, I’m stealing Kate Spade’s idea…
Remember, every day you are given the choice to have a happy, NEW day!
Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.
